Morocco has a special style of architect in which hanging around the Moroccan cities and towns will expose you to different buildings that might be at the first place a Kasbah or a palace.
A Kasbah is a traditional building that is made of mud bricks and usually built upon a hill and next to a river. The Local residents choose the place to build their Kasbahs very carefully, taking the geographical position and the natural recourses into their consideration.
In addition to that Kasbahs are built on the hills in order to make them in a position of power and observing anything that surround them, Kasbahs are usually surrounded by high walls each wall has a tower in the corner in order to watch the neighboring villages.
Kasbahs were entire villages in which they contains a whole tribe that is made of several clans. Unlike Kasbahs, palaces are usually located in the center of the city for many reasons, such as Palaces are quarters of the important personalities like the royal Family the Prime Minister… Palaces are designed in order to host the biggest personalities in all over Morocco and from abroad. Palaces always contains gardens and green courtyards while Kasbahs include many houses in their hearts.
